Gold Teeth Story
By Mark Moody
Dear Reader
NOTE: We are providing you with a first hand account of what happened at
one of our meetings. We are in no way beginning to try and bring understanding or purpose to what God meant by allowing this to happen.
This is simply Mark Moody explaining in his own words what he and his wife
experienced. Ignoring what happens is just as incorrect as putting to
much emphasis upon what happened. I have studied church history and have
noticed that the past heroes of some of our major denominations spent time, not
considerable time but time none the less, documenting phenomenon. They
did not try to bring an explanation but just reported on what happened
during some of their meetings. That is how we learn from past histories of
revival
by reading the reports. If we do not take time to document these
phenomenon then future moves of God may, if the same phenomenon occur, not have the
resources available to see that it had happened before. Therefore when others would question them as to where in former moves of God did
anything like this ever occur they would not have any historical documentation
available to them. Especially noteworthy is how they documented the
reports
of the phenomenon written in the Bible. Certainly the disciples of Jesus
did not spend considerable time explaining them they just
matter-of-factly wrote what happened without drawing attention to them.
Rex Burgher
Rex has asked us to provide you with descriptions of our experience when
we received our gold teeth on April 25, in Sao Paulo, at the Videira
Church. As you know I spent the evening in the Intercessory Prayers room and was
not present with the Words of Knowledge or Ministry Time began. When I realized that Ministry Time had started I came downstairs and shortly
after that I passed Rex in the sanctuary who said to me, "you better go
over and look at your Wife's new teeth!" Over where Glenda was I could see a
crowd gathering so went over and found her in the middle of probably 20 or 30
people. She took one look at me and opened her mouth wide. I could immediately see one large beautiful gold tooth on the lower right side
of her mouth. I was so stunned I didn't know what to say or do. The two of
us just stood there in the midst of all those people coming to look at
Glenda's mouth. Finally we were able to break away and go upstairs where they
were serving the team snack. Glenda and I sat together and teams members came
over to examine Glenda's tooth. As another group began to gather, one of
them (Harold) sat down and begin kidding with me about the fact that my Glenda got the first miracle in the family. He then said, we better
check your mouth, so that when God gives you your gold teeth, I can be a
witness. At first I resisted, it seemed silly to me and I did not want to draw
attention away from what had happened to Glenda, but he persisted. So finally I opened my mouth and he peered into it and I knew the moment I
saw the look on his face, something had happened. The next words out of his
mouth were "so you didn't have any gold teeth, right?" I
replied "right",
and he said, "well you do now!" The sheer force of his words
nearly knocked me out of my chair. He caught me and loudly said "open you
mouth!" which I did. I had what appeared to be two new gold teeth. (It appears one is
gold and one is silver). The next person to look was Glenda, who was sitting
right next to me. At that point it was chaos. People started streaming
over to our table. I just sat there in the chair with my mouth open. My Pastor, Ed Cook came rushing over and very carefully examined my mouth.
He said, "I think there is another one starting." A thin line of
gold was appearing on yet a third tooth on the upper right side of my mouth. He
said, "I don't think the Lord is finished yet!" I didn't know
what else to say, but "fine!" We managed to finished our meals, say our
good-byes to the Brazilians for the evening and stumble onto the team bus, still all
reeling in the Spirit! When we got back to the Hotel, there were more
inspections of our mouths. Finally, it was time to get on the elevator. Between the
time I said Good Night and got on the elevator, something else had
happened.
On the elevator was Tom Christoe a Team Member who had shared the word
of knowledge regarding teeth that night. What makes all this more amazing
is that Tom does not have his own teeth, but false teeth, that he said were
hurting like a tooth ache that evening. Standing on the elevator, he
said let me see your teeth, and I blurted out "I got two new one!"
He said "no
you didn't, you got three." The one that Ed had seen beginning
earlier in the evening was now grown to a large filing encompassing almost half the
tooth.
On the bus, Glenda commented that her "bite" was uneven,
because the gold tooth was larger than the original tooth causing her to bite on the
right side of her mouth first. One of the Ministry Members said - you should
pray that God evens out your bite.
When I got to the Hotel room, I told Glenda, and when I gathered myself
together, I said "let me see your mouth again." And sure
enough, she has received another - this one was shinny silver on the lower left side of
her mouth, (opposite of the gold tooth) which she did not have an hour
before. Her "bite" was completely even now - both sides of her mouth
closed at the
same time! What makes all this even more wonderful, it that neither Glenda or I had
ever asked the Lord for gold teeth, in fact, I did not even know I had gotten them until Harold insisted upon looking in my mouth. There are
many things that we can question, that we do not understand about how God
moves in power and people's lives. But Glenda and I know one thing for sure,
each morning when we get up and look in the mirror, for the rest of our
lives, we will have a tangible reminder of God's power to do exceedingly and
abundantly above that which you would ask or think.
